Trained as an urban sociologist, Renée is focused on using sociological knowledge to inform urban planning, housing policy, and public health decisions. Renée is passionate about health-promoting built environments, including safe and affordable housing. Much of her academic work has centered on public housing, however, she has also authored peer-reviewed publications on urban green space, and on race in the workplace. Renée is a proud alumna of Michigan State University and earned both her master’s and doctorate degrees from Georgia State University.
